Commission publication of the: Green Paper - on a European strategy on plastic waste in the environment

The EU is developing a strategy on how to develop plastics and counteract their harmful effects on the environment. Danish Ports supports efforts to reduce volumes and develop more sustainable types so that pollution can be stopped at the source. But why wait? There are low-hanging fruits in Denmark, so there is less plastic in the marine environment. Don't charge a state tax on the stray waste that fishermen bring into port and that the ports handle and find some recycling options for trawls etc. See Danish Ports' consultation response here.
