Subsidy option

European Investment Bank (EIB)

What can I apply for?

By borrowing on the capital markets itself, the EIB provides long-term financing at low lending rates for projects in the member states.

All projects financed by the EIB must be suitable for bank financing. But they must also meet high technical, environmental and social standards. The EIB provides both loans and loan guarantees to companies or public institutions in the following areas:
Climate and environment
Development
Innovation and skills
Small and medium-sized enterprises
Infrastructure and infrastructure
Cohesion

Who can apply?

Both private and public actors can apply, and if you have a project that can contribute to achieving EU objectives, you may be eligible for an EIB loan. To apply for a loan (https://www.eib.org/en/projects/cycle/applying_loan/index.htm), contact the EIB by email, through the web form (https://www.eib.org/en/infocentre/contact-form.htm) or through its offices (https://www.eib.org/en/infocentre/contact/offices/index.htm), providing sufficient information for the bank to assess whether the project meets the lending objectives and has a well-developed business plan.

Amount & conditions

Up to 12.5 million EUR for SMEs, min. 25 million EUR for other projects.

The EIB generally finances one third of each project, but can support up to 50%. The EIB supports projects that further EU priorities and objectives and contribute to the TEN-T network.

One of the conditions for receiving a loan is that the project must be instrumental in promoting policy ideas (e.g. in infrastructure, energy and environment) across countries.

Cases

The EIB's Danish partner for SMEs is Jyske Bank.
