Port of Aabenraa strengthens administration and operations

Danish Ports brings here a press release from the Port of Aabenraa regarding the appointment of Franziska-Lea Haderup as new Finance and Administration Manager.
Franziska-Lea Haderup has just had her first working day as Head of Finance and Administration at the Port of Aabenraa's administration. Franziska, who is 40 years old and lives in Bov, has switched from road transport to sea transport with her job at the Port of Aabenraa.
Franziska has been employed at Schmitz Cargobull in Padborg for almost four years, but after completing a degree in accounting, she was looking for further challenges, and then unexpectedly the job advertisement from the Port of Aabenraa appeared.
Franziska-Lea Haderup, Head of Finance and Administration:
"I am very pleased with my move to the Port of Aabenraa. From the sidelines, I have been able to follow some of the positive initiatives that the Port of Aabenraa has taken in recent years. So it immediately aroused my interest when I read the job advertisement.
As the position would also mean that I would both have more responsibilities and become part of the team that will shape the Port of Aabenraa's positive development journey, I knew that I simply had to apply for this position."

The Port of Aabenraa is facing significant growth and development opportunities now and in the years to come. The port's current customers and their business are developing, and this places demands on the port as a prerequisite for their success in the markets.
Over the coming years, the port will also take over full ownership of the areas at the former Ensted Power Station. In concrete terms, this means a doubling of the port's area and a multiplication of the port's building stock. This requires the port, its managers and employees to act professionally and proactively towards both current and future customers.
Henrik Thykjær, Director of the Port of Aabenraa:
"The Port of Aabenraa is a market-oriented company with its own board, management and finances and is operated on 100% commercial terms. The port is and must continue to be a competitive and attractive commercial port within the core areas that the port is focusing on these years; wind, solid bulk, recycling, leasing and industrial park. This requires that the port now and in the future can offer professional and attractive services and infrastructure that ensure an attractive framework and create value and competitive advantages for our customers."
The port's opportunities to be a prerequisite for future increased business activities at the port are very large, and this gave the opportunity and need to rethink the port's organization. The solution was to strengthen both the port's administration and operations, which was done by creating two new positions as Head of Finance and Administration, to be filled by Franziska, and a position as Operations and Finance Assistant, to be filled by Jette Hviid Hansen, who has been employed at the Port of Aabenraa for 29 years and who therefore possesses a very great insight into the port's operations.
This is a general upgrading of skills at all levels to deliver on the port's strategic ambitions and match customer needs.
Erwin Andresen, Chairman of the Board:
"The Port of Aabenraa is an important part of GateDenmark, which is an interdisciplinary collaboration between all suppliers of logistics, transport and service solutions in Aabenraa. Together with Padborg Transport Center, Business Aabenraa and Aabenraa Municipality, the port is working to expand the absolute position of strength that the port has within logistics and transport. With the appointment of Franziska and her insight into road transport, we will have the opportunity to further strengthen the cooperation in GateDenmark."
