Grant opportunity

Next Generation EU - Corona recovery

What can you apply for?

The EU has decided to create a recovery fund totaling €806.9 billion. Half will be given as loans, the other half as grants.

Sustainable investment:

Immediate action is needed to kick-start the economy and create the conditions for a recovery
led by private investment in key sectors and technologies. These investments are particularly
crucial to the success of Europe's green and digital transitions. The Commission estimates that
investment needs amount to at least EUR 1.5 trillion in 2020-2021. Investments in key sectors and technologies, from 5G to
technologies, from 5G to artificial intelligence and from clean hydrogen to renewable offshore energy, are key to Europe's
future.

Solvency support:

Healthy businesses are a prerequisite for success in this investment offensive, but hundreds of thousands of
companies risk coming under severe financial pressure by the end of the year. The Commission
is therefore proposing a new Solvency Support Instrument to provide urgent equity support to healthy companies,
that have been put at risk by the crisis. This will help them weather the storm and support their green
and digital transformation. This instrument should be operational this year.

Better investment program :

The Commission also proposes to strengthen InvestEU, Europe's flagship investment programme, to mobilize
investments across the Union in areas such as sustainable infrastructure and digitalization. As part of this
the Commission proposes to create a new Strategic Investment Facility to invest
in key value chains that are essential for Europe's future resilience and strategic
strategic autonomy in the green and digital transitions.

As mentioned, NextGenEU distributes both pooled funds, loans and also contracts to labor market actors.
