EUDP - Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program

What can you apply for?

The purpose of the EUDP is to support the energy policy objectives of security of supply, consideration for the global climate and a cleaner environment as well as cost-effectiveness in order to contribute to Denmark's independence from fossil fuels.

In spring 2021, the EUDP has a special Power-to-X pool to promote this technology, including CO2 capture and purification at waste incinerators or industrial plants, as well as the production of green
ammonia and jet fuel etc.

In addition, the EUDP supports the following project types with its general pool:
1. development and demonstration including research
2. Feasibility studies
3. international participation and cooperation in IEA
4. international cooperation under Mission Innovation
5. The EU Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan)
6. Technology partnerships
7. Dissemination projects

Who can apply?

EUDP funding can be applied for by private or public companies or knowledge institutions, including universities and Approved Technological Service Institutes (GTSs) registered in the Central Business Register in Denmark.

Foreign project participants can apply for funding as long as the project contributes to promoting technology development in Denmark and the main applicant is registered with a Danish CVR number.

Amount & conditions

General Pool: DKK 250 million
Power-to-X Pool: DKK 16.5 million

Application deadline, EUDP: 15.00 on March 5, 2021
Party consultation: March to May 2021
Decision: Mid-June 2021

Aid cannot be granted to companies that have not complied with an order to repay aid that the European Commission has declared in a previous decision
illegal and incompatible with the internal market.
