What can you apply for?

In partnership with other funding sources (such as your bank), we provide co-financing for companies and projects in the following areas:

Energy Optimization
Renewable Energy
Resource Efficiency

Who is eligible to apply?

We provide loans to private businesses of all sizes in all industries, to nonprofit housing organizations, and to public institutions and companies that wish to implement green solutions.

In addition, we can provide co-financing to suppliers who develop and provide technology that supports the green transition.

We can also partner with, for example, grid and distribution companies, as well as electricity and natural gas trading firms. In addition, we can collaborate with other commercial entities—including, among others, engineering consulting firms, auditors, banks, and business and interest groups.

Amounts & Terms

A maximum of 100 million DKK and a minimum of 2 million DKK. It is possible to borrow up to 60 percent of the total project cost from the Danish Green Investment Fund. The loan term can be up to 30 years.

To obtain a loan from the Danish Green Investment Fund, two basic criteria must be met.

First, the project must contribute to society’s green transition. In other words, it must be possible to measure a green impact—for example, in the form of reduced CO2 emissions or lower energy consumption. Read more about how we measure the green impact in our annual report.

Second, the project must be financially viable. This means that the loan must be repayable with a rate of return that matches the risk.

If you are a provider of sustainable technology, please also be aware that we only fund technologies that have demonstrated commercial potential.

If, on the other hand, you are developing a technology that is still in the early stages, or if you have a smaller green project, we can refer you to the Innovation Fund.
