What can you apply for?

The foundation's charter from 1953 identifies a number of areas that must be given special attention:

Danish shipping and industry

Danishness in the Danish-German borderland

Cooperation between Denmark and the other Nordic countries

Science, especially medicine

Public benefit purposes.

Among its non-profit purposes, the Foundation has traditionally supported a very broad range of Danish culture. This has included churches, museums, art galleries, historical sites, parks and gardens, wind and water mills, harbors and special buildings worthy of preservation − but also new construction, science, leisure and sports, music, books, theater and ballet.

Who can apply?

All – but only for the purposes mentioned.

Amount & conditions

Not supported:
Ongoing operations and administration, including remuneration of fundraisers, fall outside the scope of both foundations, which also do not cover individuals' maintenance, education or study trips.
