Press release: Maritime jump start at Folkemødet in the Port of Copenhagen

The Blue Denmark invites you to a pre-People's Meeting in Copenhagen Harbor on Tuesday, June 14 at 14.15. Everyone is welcome to quiz, debate and new insights. There is a sneak preview of Folkemødet on Tuesday in Copenhagen Harbor. The three maritime organizations Danish Ports, Danish Maritime and the Danish Shipowners' Association invite you to a festive and exciting afternoon on board the Folkeskibet Maja, docked at Amaliehaven (Larsens Plads/Toldbodgade). Exactly as at the real People's Meeting on the rocky island, there will be new knowledge, exciting debate and fun quiz with decision-makers as well as a little something for the palate. Everyone is welcome and registration is not necessary. The focus will be on education and career opportunities in Denmark's largest export industry - the Blue Denmark, which provides employment for around 100,000 people and accounts for 25% of Denmark's total exports. The three directors, Anne H. Steffensen from the Danish Shipowners' Association, Bjørn B. Christiansen from Danske Havne and Jenny Braat from Danske Maritime are looking forward to an entertaining and informative afternoon. "The Blue Denmark contributes greatly to Danish employment and exports. Our strong competencies in both equipment percentages, in the ports, in the educational and research institutions and in the shipping companies are crucial to our position as one of the world's leading maritime nations. But how do we retain and develop our skills and ensure recruitment of the most talented people? Hopefully, we will learn a lot more about this on Tuesday," the three directors said in a joint statement. Blue Denmark is also strongly represented at Folkemødet itself with many other good debates and entertainment. You can read more on the individual associations' websites. See below.
