KL's Business Conference - now with ports
"Companies find it difficult to navigate internally in the municipalities and in the Danish business promotion system," quote from KL's presentation to the business conference on August 24, 2015. Danske Havne, Aalborg Port A/S and Business Aalborg discuss the municipalities as a partner and authority for the development of the port and the city. Danish Ports takes every opportunity to point out that ports are business centers, indeed the most important business areas in many cities. This is partly due to their ability to strengthen clustering around a maritime core, while at the same time it is obvious for companies with large transportation and logistics tasks to locate at the port. But there is still room for improvement. The municipalities provide business promotion efforts towards national and international companies, which could include the ports to a much greater extent. It is Danske Havne's contention that closer cooperation between municipality and port to improve competitiveness can strengthen both the port's and the city's development. KL takes us at our word by inviting the ports to this year's Business Conference. It is Monday, August 24, 2015 from 9.30 am in Aarhus. In addition to the port angle, there are many other exciting presentations and discussions where the municipalities' business efforts will be scrutinized and challenged.
