Draft bill on railways

August 24, 2014
New draft railway law makes the law more transparent, but Danish Ports is calling for a modernization so that the combination of ship and rail can be expanded According to the European Commission, 30 percent of freight transport over 300 km should be by ship or rail. Danish ports have an interest and competence in intermodal transport and combined terminals. A new draft rail law makes the law clearer and more user-friendly. However, Danish Ports are calling for a modernization so that the combination of ship and rail can be expanded. Ports have had good experience with leaving the state tariff regulation. It should be investigated whether combined terminals can also strengthen their competitiveness by going the same way. See Port Denmark's consultation response here.
