State aid for infrastructure and ports

Transparent and clear rules on state aid to ports and infrastructure are needed to ensure fair competition Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager gathered the Commission and representatives from Member States in a new sub-group on state aid to infrastructure on March 5, 2015. The aim is to identify types of state aid where guidance is needed to help beneficiaries and member states. The working group will meet for the second time at the end of April 2015 and expects to approve the Commission's communication, which can be read in draft form here From the first meeting, there seems to be agreement on sector-specific interpretations of state aid and that guidance should be very pragmatic.
