New EIA regulation in the territorial sea

April 22nd, 2013
The Ministry of Transport should review the executive order one more time in order to reduce the administrative burdens Danish Ports wants increased proportionality between the screening and EIA requirements on the one hand and the impact a project can be estimated to have on the surroundings on the other hand. Therefore, in Port Denmark's consultation response to the EIA Executive Order on the territorial sea, it is emphasized that efforts should be used when it comes to major projects. This means, among other things, that port maintenance projects that do not change the environmental conditions should not go through the entire administrative process. Danish Ports urges the Ministry of Transport to take the opportunity to review the executive order one more time with a view to easing the administrative burden. See the consultation response here.
