New regulation on the sulfur content of solid and liquid fuels

May 6, 2014

Sulfur: control penalty rules and reception facilities must be the same in the EU

Clean air is good, which is why it's right to demand cleaner fuels. This must be done internationally - or at least in the EU. Therefore, all parts of the regulations should also apply outside and around Denmark. This also applies to inspections, penalties and reception facilities. If this does not happen, we risk ships sailing around Denmark and Danish ports because it will be easier and less risky. No one gains anything from this - not even the environment.

See Port Denmark's consultation response to the new executive order on the sulfur content of solid and liquid fuels here.
