Maritime transition pool in consultation
New proposal for subsidies for the development of greener shipping is in line with the Danish government's growth strategy for Blue Denmark and the European Commission's Communication on Clean Energy for Transport: A European Strategy for Alternative Fuels. It is positive that the government will contribute to Danish equipment companies benefiting from the growing global demand for green maritime solutions through a conversion pool of DKK 20 million. Denmark's location in the EU's Emission Control Area (ECA), coupled with the world's third most navigable strait in the Kattegat and the economic development in the Baltic Sea region help create a framework for Danish growth opportunities. International and European environmental requirements for shipping can create increased international awareness of new and existing Danish maritime environmental and climate-friendly solutions. This can create renewed activity in Danish commercial ports and maritime related businesses. Read Danish Ports' consultation response Read consultation material from the Danish Maritime Authority
