Consultation response regarding Banedanmark's Network Statement 2025 – Appendix 3.5C

August 2, 2024

Danish Ports would like to thank you for the opportunity to provide comments on Banedanmark's Network Statement 2025 – Appendix 3.5.C regarding the overview of the closures and capacity restrictions known at the time of publication in the timetable year 2025.

The Danish railway network and access to transport goods via rail are of great importance to the Danish ports, which are important infrastructure hubs for Danish imports and exports. Access to the railway network as part of Denmark's multimodal transport infrastructure in combination with road and sea is a prerequisite for the development of more environmentally friendly freight transport and integrated green transport chains.

Precisely because rail freight transport has clear environmental benefits, Danish ports are experiencing increased demand for access to the railway, because businesses want to make use of climate-neutral freight transport.

If Danish ports are to contribute to promoting greener forms of transport, it is crucial to promote the capacity for rail freight in the major transport corridors around the ports.

It is therefore important that capacity restrictions and track closures on the Danish railway network, cf. Banedanmark's Network Statement 2025 – Appendix 3.5C, are minimized.

Sincerely
Tina Grønholdt Hansen
