Danish Ports’ Response to the Public Comment Period on the Executive Order Regarding Grants for Costs Associated with Preparing an Application to the EU Innovation Fund

Danish Ports would like to express its gratitude for the opportunity to submit comments on the draft executive order regarding grants to cover costs associated with preparing applications for grants from the EU Innovation Fund.

Funding from the Innovation Fund is relevant to Danish commercial ports, as ports are well-positioned to contribute to new solutions in areas such as the green transition (e.g., CCS/CCUS, green fuels, and energy efficiency), digitalization, transportation efficiency, climate resilience, and sustainability.  We view the proposal favorably, as preparing an application for the EU Innovation Fund is resource-intensive and involves significant costs for the applicant. In this context, we assume that Danish commercial ports, regardless of their organizational form (public limited company, municipally managed port, or municipal port), are considered businesses within the meaning of the regulations, as they are registered with a CVR number and engage in commercial activities.
