Danish Ports' response to the consultation on subsidies for costs associated with preparing applications to the EU Innovation Fund
Danske Havne would like to thank you for the opportunity to submit a consultation response to the draft executive order on subsidies for costs associated with preparing applications for subsidies from the EU Innovation Fund.
Funding from the Innovation Fund is relevant for Danish commercial ports, as ports can obviously contribute to new solutions in areas such as green transition (e.g., CCS/CCUS, green fuels, and energy efficiency), digitization, transport efficiency, climate resilience, and sustainability. We are positive about the proposal, as preparing an application to the EU's Innovation Fund is resource-intensive and involves significant costs for the applicant. In this context, we assume that Danish commercial ports, regardless of their organizational form (public limited company, municipally controlled port, or municipal port), are considered businesses within the meaning of the rules, as commercial ports are registered with a CVR number and operate commercial activities.
