The impact of Brexit on ports
The Ministry of Transport and Building is to map the Danish interests in the ministry's area in connection with the UK's decision to withdraw as a member of the EU in the referendum on 23 June 2016. Based on the election result, the government decided at the end of June to set up an inter-ministerial task force to map Danish interests in all ministerial areas prior to the negotiations with the UK on the country's future association with the EU. Danske Havne supplements the Ministry of Finance's Economic Report from August 2016 with examples from Danish commercial ports. The UK's withdrawal from the EU may have an impact on the common maritime policy, the fisheries sector, foreign trade (including freight trade), the common environmental policy, maritime planning, offshore activities and border control.
