EU analysis on de-fished waste

The European Commission is investigating whether fishing vessels should also be included in the EU directive on port reception facilities. Danish Ports do not want additional burdens and bureaucracy to be added to the fishing industry, on the contrary, there should be a greater focus on the polluter pays principle and that ports are exempted or compensated for the task of receiving, handling and disposing of harvested waste so that no state taxes are paid on the landed waste.
