Port Denmark's consultation response regarding consultation of designated Natura 2000 areas

May 20, 2022

Danish Ports acknowledges the opportunity to submit comments regarding.
draft Natura 2000 plans 2022-2027.

Each plan contains long-term objectives for nature in the area as well as
an overview of initiatives to be implemented in the planning period 2022-2027.
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency has also prepared a strategic environmental assessment report
for each draft plan. Ports of Denmark has asked each member port to
assess the plans in/near your own area, and possibly provide a direct response regarding
specific issues.

• For Danish Ports it is important that the total
assessment of the consultation responses received takes into account
the current and future activities of the commercial port, as a logistical
hub for goods, energy and people.
• It is an important social concern that the import of goods that
predominantly comes by sea today, shipping/receiving of
wind turbine parts, from green fuels, from recycled materials and
movement of raw materials is not hindered/increased in cost.
• This consideration can be met, among other things, by ensuring that Natura 2000 areas are not
be placed in or tented close to commercial ports and harbor entrances.
Likewise, the conditions for Danish fishing should be taken into account so that the industry can best
can possibly coexist with the designated Natura 2000 areas.

Kind regards
Camilla Rosenhagen
