Deadlines for answering
The time limits for responding to a request for access depend on the complexity of the legal assessments needed to process the case and the scope of the case material.
- 1-2 working days for an uncomplicated assessment and few documents
- 3-7 working days for slightly more complicated cases
- 14 working days for more complicated cases and large numbers of documents
- 40 working days for very large and complicated cases.
If a request for access cannot be completed within 7 working days after the request has been received, the port must notify the requester of the reason and when the request is expected to be completed.
Cases under the Environmental Information Act must be processed as soon as possible and generally within 1 month of receipt of the request. In cases where the case is particularly extensive, the deadline is 2 months.
