Does the project require an environmental assessment?

The construction of a new port or expansion of an existing port requires a permit from the Ministry of Transport according to section 2 of the Port Act. However, this does not apply if the expansion of the existing port is within the port's covering works, unless the expansion requires an environmental assessment.
