Gender distribution in port boards

When electing a new port board, the question of gender distribution may come up. The question is really only relevant if the port's statutes stipulate that there are organizations that can nominate board members. In that case, they must nominate candidates of both genders.

• The public limited company port is equal to the rules for state-owned public limited companies in the Danish Limited Liability Companies Act. Provisions requiring the port to formulate a policy and target figures for gender distribution only apply to public limited company ports above a certain size.
• The self-government port is subject to special provisions in the Executive Order on remuneration etc. for members of the boards of municipal self-government ports .
• Port committee members in the municipal port are subject to the general rules for appointment to committees in the municipality.
