Questions
What to do if the owner cannot be found?
The port shall endeavor to notify the owner. If the owner of the ship cannot be found immediately, the port must make reasonable efforts to find the owner of the ship, cf. section 16 of the Standard Rules of Procedure.
If this does not succeed, an application can be submitted to the bailiff's court with a view to conducting a public auction where the ship can be sold off. Such a petition is filed by the port's lawyer, who will take the necessary steps in cooperation with the port.
